actionmoviereviews: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra 2009 :  ...Nanotechnology yes,  little tiny robots that can eat anything in their path, good guys , bad guys , lots of cool vehicles and massive lairs for them to perfect their training. This sounds like a 70’s James bond film but that’s what this movie offers us, a world of absolutes and money was no object gadgets. I’ve seen shows of the discovery channel were all this stuff is just a year s off in the future.

Here the way the story starts there is this nanotechnology-based weapon capable of destroying an entire city. MARS the biggest supplier of the world’s weapons sells four warheads to NATO, and the U.S. Army is tasked with delivering the warheads. Duke (Channing Tatum) and Ripcord (Marlon Wayans) are delivering the warheads when they are ambushed by the Baroness (Sienna Miller)and bunch of highly trained soldiers  Duke and Ripcord are rescued  by Scarlett (Rachel Nichols), Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and Heavy Duty (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje).

they then join the G.I. Joe team to find this group of bad guys and find out how they knew about the secret projects and what they are up to. So, first thing I wanted to say was this movie is going to be under every X-mas tree this winter, and If I was a young boy I would want everyone of the vehicles to play with. Whether it’s the airplanes, trucks or submarines I would want them… I guess I’m just a big kid at heart. There’s allot of action, effects and explosions and yes cool flying machines and of course a plot to take over the world only the members of G.G. Joe can stop.

This is the movie that Transformer: Revenge of the Fallen and Terminator Salvation just couldn’t be, a fantasy action war movie with a half way descent story and no shaky camera work, or weird plot lines. This is just a fun movie where no one in the film drops f-bomb or their pants. I’m going to go with what I feel the fans would like, not what the voters from the academy would want for an Oscar. I’m going to say” if I were a young boy I would love this film.”
