In the Loop : 2009

In the Loop : 2009 In the loop is a very funny British political satire, roughly based on the lead up to current situation in Iraq. The story of a low level minister who has a way of saying the wrong thing, leads him into the loins den, as he is quoted as saying accidentally that a proposed war in the Middle East is "unforeseeable" is that "unforeseeable" or was "in-foreseeable". This is a very funny film it’s like an R rated version of the west wing, but using the English approach to comedy. • Peter Capaldi play Malcolm Tucker, who is the Prime ministers foul mouthed henchman , who insults everyone and is just a really funny character. Once again in a short two months I get to see another film with James Gandolfini who plays General Miller in this film and the mayor of New York in The Taking of Pelham 123, he been busy since the end of his run as Americas favorite mobster in the HBO series The Sopranos.

This is a Dialog driven story, with some very interesting characters and situations that kept my entertained right way through, and laughing out loud more than a few times. With America’s current fascination in all things English this film should do well in the theaters, even with its relatively unknown in the U.S cast and some very thick accents. Notable are Anna Chlumsky as Liza and Tom Hollander as Simon Foster and two young people sucked into the cross continent comedy. There is a few lines that must have went over very well in the U.K. , but would be lost to an American audience, Like when the Scottish character Malcolm Tucker says after a long argument “And don’t call me British!” as a final line, that to must have brought the house down in the U.K. This is not a huge budget film, and doesn’t have the special effects and expensive actor’s salaries, but it does deliver some laughs and is very entertaining.

No spoiler reviews
OK “We don’t do spoilers”; it’s my policy to be very vague about the story lines of the films I review here. I have always hated reading movie reviews that tell to much about a film. Entering a theater already having preconceived notions about the plot and / or the outcome of the film in the past have ruined the viewing experience for me,so this is why these reviews are written this way . I hope you enjoy our NO Spoiler Action Movie Reviews!
